Work experience
The work experience scheme
We are offering students the opportunity to participate in a weeklong work experience at HL, the UK’s number 1 platform for private investors. The week is designed to give you an insight into the vast array of careers in financial services and give you the chance to develop your employability skills.
We offer work experience with our partners, Bristol Future Talent Partnership, a charity who have a mission to end inequalities and under-representation faced by people from Black and minority ethnic backgrounds in Bristol. We also offer an open cohort week, for any sixth form students (or equivalent) from Bristol or the surrounding areas.
Unlike other workplaces that offer a shadowing style of work experience, our programme is project based and is designed to help you develop important employability skills that will prepare you for entering the world of work. It also gives you a broader insight into many different areas of the business, allowing you the opportunity to explore career paths you may not be aware of.
Criteria for work experience students
• Aged 16 or above at the time the work experience is due to take place
• Studying A-levels or college equivalent
• Demonstrate an interest in wanting to find out more about a career at HL, across a variety of different pathways
• From Bristol or the surrounding areas
• Able to travel to our offices in central Bristol
• Available for the entire duration of the week
